Feb 15,2021 update

Feb 15 update
We are now in the Public health Red Zone in Thunder Bay, which allows some return to hockey- skills and development only.  Only 10 participants can be on the ice, with coaches. No spectators are allowed, but a parent can accompany a minor child
The teams may choose to return now, or wait.
U7 and U9 groups will restart with these new rules sometime over the next week

Jan 6 update
With the provincial lockdown in effect, there is no hockey until it's lifted. Once the TBDHU officially move the region out of grey,  and HNO confirms, there can be practices and games. The City arenas are planning to reopen on Sun, Jan 10, so hopefully we will be able to resume hockey then. Once official, we can update the info

Dec 2 update
The AA teams have been drafted. The A players in U11 and U13 will be selected this weekend in a 'first ever' south side LMH draft
Practices will continue through Dec. Modified games will commence in Jan- dependent on City facility rules and TBDHU guidelines
The second fee of $300 is now due for these players. This covers costs through Dec and into Jan. It can be paid through etransfer to neebing

For U7 and U9, the second fee of $300 is due in Jan, and will cover all costs to the end of the season. There are a couple of openings at these age groups now. For more info contact Joanne at

Oct 21 update
The registration is now closed for players. We are at our maximum for U7 and U9 based on covid on-ice restrictions.  If you wish your child to be placed on a waitlist, please contact Joanne at neebing
Any U11 or U13 players wishing to register should contact Lakehead Minor Hockey to be placed

Oct 5 update
To all the Neebing families- thanks for being so patient as we push ahead with this new season. The six associations with LMH are organizing the initial development phase for U11(atom) and U13(PW) beginning Oct 13. Groups and ice times will be posted for those ages on the website Oct 9. Since some arenas are not opening, or are later than usual, available ice amounts are reduced. The group sizes will be optimized as per arena and City of Thunder Bay guidelines. All players and parents entering the rinks will have to do Covid screening prior.
see for City arenas
Rules for all arenas are posted through the lmh website as well
Registration for these age groups will close Oct 7 at midnight
Further plans for the next stage, and any potential AA formation will be formulated based on HNO, and Public Health guidelines as we move through this initial phase into late Nov

U9(novice) will begin Oct 25, U7(IP) will begin Nov 1
Those groups and ice time for the Neebing players will be posted here after Thanksgiving, so please check back

Sept 22 update
We are working on the plan for Phase 1 and expect it to begin after Thanksgiving. Dates are not firm until we receive our ice contracts.  Once dates are set, we will email the info about groups and times to the parents, along with Covid related rules about the rinks and their usage  If any parents are interested in helping on-ice in this initial phase, please contact us through and we will put you in touch with board members in charge of that age group.
Please register in the HCR now if you have not done so, as some age groups are filling quickly

Thanks for your patience, we are happy to announce the six associations within the Lakehead Minor Hockey league have been working together to open all registrations. (see above for link)
